For those who enjoy life and also want to discover beautiful nature, there are more than enough possibilities. In the vicinity of Barbaia, there are several options for renting a bike, scooter, or motorcycle. Would you like to use these during your stay in the B&B or on the mini-campsite? We are happy to provide more information.
Swimming
Enjoy a refreshing dive during your stay at Barbaia! Just 1km away, you can swim in the municipal pool Torre Bormida. Or discover the natural swimming pleasure at the nearby river by the campsite!
Walking
There are various hiking trails over paved and unpaved roads, the so-called ‘sentieri’. Right next to the terrain of Barbaia, there are a few, suitable for both experienced and novice hikers. If you enjoy long hikes, you can walk beautifully towards and over the ridge of the valley, where you have a magnificent view over the two valleys, and in clear weather, you can even see the Alps in the distance. Nearby, there are many more extensive hiking trails: La strada romantica is a beautiful walking route consisting of 11 stages that take you through various nearby villages.
Cycling
Cycling, next to football, is the national sport in Italy. When the weather and time permit, you will always encounter cyclists. All cycling enthusiasts, mountain bikers, and road cyclists can enjoy themselves in cycling country Italy. The hills offer enough challenge, and in the atmospheric villages, there’s always a terrace for coffee, a drink, or a delicious pasta. On the road bike, there are various routes in the area. Try, for example, a nature ride in the Cortemilia area, or the wine ride Barbaresco – Barolo. Do you prefer only downhill cycling? No problem, then we’ll drop you off at the top! Motorcycling
With all its rolling hills and curves, the Langhe is also a popular spot for motorcyclists. Not racing monsters, but leisurely touring through the Langhe and its beautiful villages, stopping now and then to take a photo, have a terrace break, or simply enjoy one of the beautiful vistas. In Alba, a small town 25 km from Barbaia, it is possible to rent a motorcycle.
Scooter
What you can do on a motorcycle, you can, of course, do on a scooter. These are available for rent in Alba for one or several days and are also a very fun way to explore the area. Drive leisurely through the hazelnut and vineyards, visit a remote wine farmer or spend a day at the beach, all of this is possible. And admit it: there’s nothing more Italian than touring the Italian landscape on your Vespa!
